if anyone’s wondering what vet school is like, i took 30 credit hours this semester, not including multiple pass-fail courses. i have had 16 exams in a 21 week semester. which means only 5 weeks of the semester have been without an exam, two of which were in january, one of which was spring break, and another on the way. this doesn’t count the clinical skills evaluation or important events that require prep, like the mock spay. some of my exams have been worth 100% of my grade. some of them haven’t been published yet, which means i honestly don’t know if i’ve passed those classes.and i still have 3 closed-book exams left, including one on friday. not to mention the open-book exam and clin skills evaluation.

and then the finances. i’ve been working weekends this semester to try to make ends’ meet because financial aid doesn’t cover full cost of living, even with roommates.

not to mention normal aches and concerns that have surrounded my life these past couple years.

it’s a lot. and i always knew it was going to be, but i’m exhausted. and i’m worried that vet school is changing me in a way i won’t be able to recover from.

maybe not, though. we’ll see. almost halfway done with the whole thing.
